Hmm.
Actually.. I was super disappointed when I didn't see any booth for chess club during the club induction day at the start of the semester. . Planned to start a club back then, but i thought that it'll be better to think about it after I've settled down in uni..

Maybe it's because of the nothing-to-do-ness during the holidays, I toyed with the idea of setting a chess club in monash again..

Spoke with Dr. Shah about it today.. He said that the chess club in Sunway College is quite active, but I told him that actually only around 5 poor souls will show up during the weekly meetings.. So.. Can't really say that it's active..

(though the club's kinda dead, the student association thingey was really active.. at least they managed to recruit a few teams for the MAPCU tourney last year..)

"So what makes you think that the club's gonna work here?" he asked.

Hmmm. I dont know.
As far as my memory stretches, chess clubs I've joined are either a total failure, or floating dangerously along that line... Well, the chess teams do win once in a while, but when it comes to club activities.. Sigh.
I think it's because usually the only ppl who are active in the club are the committee members.. The club members, if any at all, are usually sleeping members.. It's really difficult to do anything without the support or participation of the members..

The reality is.. Even if I really do set up a chess club now.. Most probably it'll be a dead club anyway, existing just for the sake of having a chess club in monash.

Okay.. I shall not attempt to build Rome in a day. Hmmm.. I think it's better to lay the foundations first.. Starting with looking for people with the same interest.. Then only decide what to do..

i wanna find some "kaki" to play chess with.. i'm free from 7am-8am everyday..lol.. lemme know if any of you/your friend's interested xD

Oh! Su Peng contacted me.. She said that she got a few ppl with her already... just need to recruit more ppl and then they'll get it running..

Ceh! If I knew earlier that got ppl planning to form a chess club, then I wouldn't have to kill my brain cells...
Thought that nobody would care enough to create a chess club in monash..
